Crysis Around the Web Part 2

Written on: April 9, 2007 by xDreamache

Crysis is creating excitement all over and at xCrysis.com we are committed to finding you the latest news and buzz on the net. In Crysis Around the Web Part 2, we continue to explore recent significant articles from reliable game news sources.

A few months back, late January to be precise, the folks at IGN sat down with the CEO of CrytekCevatYerli who went into some details about the the game's development and features. Yerli discussed the "tangible set of choices" that the Nano Suit adds to the gameplay of the game's hero. The Nano Suit, for the unaware, will give the player the ability to enhance their Speed, Strength, Armor, and Cloak at the cost of energy that can and will deplete during use and recharge when at rest. He also discusses balance issues and level design that result from the innovative Nano Suit, how the Suit will be used in multiplayer. Also of note is Yerli's comments on DX10 in which he states: "Some of the visual features are DX10 only." Nothing extremely new is disclosed in this interview but it does make for a good read.

GameTrailers.com posted a quick 3 minute chat with EA Partners' UK Director of Technology Charlie Skilbek. Skilbek discusses things such as the scalability of CryEngine 2 as well as the ease of use of the Sandbox 2 world editor. Although a good watch, you will see no new game footage here.

Finally, we end this edition of Crysis Around the Web with a preview that wasn't quite on the web after all. The May issue of Games For Windows magazine features a nice Crysis preview with new information about multiplayer and aliens, as well as comments from Cevat Yerli, Level Designer Morten Sandholt and lead Multiplayer Designer Chris Auty.

Stay tuned for more Crysis coverage!
