Crysis a pioneer for Vista's DX10

DirectX 10 is the new standard in graphics that comes with Microsoft Vista. The power and capability of this engine is more powerful than the Xbox 360's or Playstation 3's, and one of the first games to show off that power will be Crytek's "Crysis."

DX10 will allow players to see more detail than ever before in "Crysis." From seeing more detail as a player observes a bush more closely, to rays of light cutting through tree's branch openings, gamers will see more than ever before. Using the zoom on a rifle will provide more than just an easier target for the player. One will see the facial features and emotions of an enemy before they blow a hole in their head.

Most gamers will have to upgrade their system to be compatible with DX10. Currently only Nvidia offers graphics cards that can use DX10. Game makers believe hardcore gamers will shell out the major bucks needed to upgrade their systems when the time comes for games like "Crysis," since the jump from DX9 is supposed to be a major one.
